SeenBefore ("we", "the app") helps you identify an actor from a character name and a movie or show title, and optionally keeps a personal list of what you've watched. This page explains what data we collect, why, and how you can delete it.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | To create and secure your account, and for password-reset emails. |
| Password | Stored only as a salted hash by our authentication provider (Supabase) — we never see or store it in plain text. |
| Watched list | The movies/shows you mark as watched (title, TMDB ID, media type, date) — used only to show you which titles in a search you've already seen. |
| Character/title searches | Sent to our server to look up the actor. Searches are not linked to your identity beyond what's needed to serve the request, and are not stored as a history. |
We do not collect your name, location, contacts, or payment information — the app has no in-app purchases at this time.
Your account data and watched list are kept until you delete your account. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
You can permanently delete your account and everything associated with it (email, watched list) at any time, directly in the app: tap your profile icon (top right) → Delete account. This cannot be undone. If you'd rather we do it for you, email us at the address below.
SeenBefore is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
